Friday, September 9: A Day in DC. White House MLK Memorial and Georgetown

The View from My Bed
Well after a nice night of sleep at the hospital, we got up and had our free breakfast on the second floor. The hostel breakfast was fine. The man in charge was really into his job. you can't go  barefoot and I had to leave my backpack somewhere else. I guess they didn't want people hoarding food.

He was nice but kind of loud for 7 o'clock in the morning.

We then walked towards the White House which with a easy 15 minute walk.

White House and then I decided to take over towards the Martin Luther King Memorial. Thank
FDR Memorial
God for over because it was a 27 minute walk and it's too damn hot to run walk anywhere too long in
MLK Memorial
humid DC. Well I met Meg back at the hotel Washington. There we decided to grab a second breakfast
Hotel Washington
which was excellent. Please have a nice atmosphere and service was pop flight. I didn't omelette and shit something little more fancy. Next we took the metro down to the Cannon office building so she could meet th congressional aide who assisted Meg getting her White House ticket.  She reserved her ticket starting three months ago. So she could go to the White House today. That was fun near conditioning in the building was great. After the
Cannon building, we hung out a bit and then we decided we would go to Georgetown. Meg
talked about Georgetown a little bit and we thought about maybe going later in evening. Instead we
decided that we would go early in the afternoon. So we caught the metro @ a stop called Foggy Bottom.
After we got off at Foggy Bottom we caught the 30 bus. We then decided to get off where it looked
like it was kind of funky and I are a lot of stores. The first place we saw was a place that you would pay
money to hang out with cats and drink coffee or tea. It was called the cat house. One of the women
working there said that was one of those kind of places in Philadelphia. I think a point finding one of
those places. We decided not to do the cat thing because it was 15 bucks for each person. We just
couldn't see ourselves  spending $30 to hang out with cats. Hey Meg how you doing?  I hope you got
some technology to charge your phone. I was able to charge it at the meeting. It was very comfortable
clubhouse that I went to. After the meeting ended, a woman recommended that instead of taking the
train, I could just walk he said I would get there at the same time.  It's a very scenic walk I'm walking from
Dupont Circle e.g 1623 Connecticut Ave. to Georgetown  going to Gypsy Sally's on 3401 K St. Well we
made it to Gypsy Sally's around 7:20 PM. I ordered some notches and Hawthorne watch the Phillies playing
the Nationals on the big TV. Well we got a bite to eat and we got to talk. A husband and wife are playing
at this place she played the bass and he played other instruments. Every quite the young couple with a
one-year-old. That's what the woman announced to us.. It was a pleasant experience that's for
sure. We marched on even darn technology failed us at some point. It shows it we are
resourceful. Anyhow, we decided to take over so we can get back to the hostel earlier than later.
