Energy Prices Going UP...UP...UP

Ok. I hear that AC electric has been approved a 11% increase effective TOMORROW June 1st. I love how the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) allows the company to raise the rate as the AC season starts and it takes effect in 2 or 3 days. Now I hear that South Jersey (G)ass will get approval for a 18 percent increase.
They claim they make no profit but I am skeptical since how do they afford those nice buildings and executive perks. They should be made to run like a non-profit and then they might understand the pain they give everyone elese. Note this picture was taken 2 weeks ago!

Rt 42 at its WORST

Hello
In my driving from Millville to West Philly over the last 5 years, I have never managed to get STUCK this kind of jam. Today this accident happened during the height of the morning rush when an open-top tractor trailer carrying scrap metal struck the Browning Road overpass in the construction zone on Route 42 between the Creek Road Exit and I-295. The impact caused a water main break under the overpass.
All I kept asking is WHY put a water MAIN under a overpass?? I did not get to work till 10:45 and it just sucked

Hump Day in May

It was a day to pick up dry cleaning in the AM then off to cubicle-land at work in West Philly. I did get to take my lunch time walking a nice dog at the Fairfax apts at 43rd and Locust. Saw a friend Allison as she was getting home then walked our pups along the Riverwalk in Millville. It was clear cool day

Things Americans REALLY believe

The most recent Newsweek poll found that 11% of the public still thinks Obama is a Muslim. An NYT/CBS poll put the number at 7%. The Pew Forum found 10%.
It is so unreal. I mean is Reverand Wright a CHIRSTIAN?? HELLO????
Ben Smith provided some interesting context to public confusion. You can go to his site http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0508/Things_Americans_believe.html

Here are some other things that some Americans believe from the above article

22 percent believe President Bush knew about the 9/11 attacks in advance.
30 percent believe Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.
23 percent believe they’ve been in the presence of a ghost.
18 percent believe the sun revolves around the Earth.

In other words, if about one-in-10 voters buy into the nonsense about Obama, it’s still a reasonably low number, compared to some other widely-held misconceptions shown above

Rain....Its such a state of mind

If the rain comes they run and hide their heads. They might as well be dead. If the rain comes, if the rain comes. When the sun shines they slip into the shade (When the sun shines down.) And sip their lemonade. (When the sun shines down.) When the sun shines, when the sun shines. Rain, I don't mind. Shine, the weather's fine. I can show you that when it starts to rain, (When the Rain comes down.) Everything's the same. (When the Rain comes down.) I can show you, I can show you. Rain, I don't mind. Shine, the weather's fine. Can you hear me, that when it rains and shines, (When it Rains and shines.) It's just a state of mind? (When it rains and shines.) Can you hear me, can you hear me? If the rain comes they run and hide their heads. sdaeh rieht edih dna nur yeht semoc niar eht fI. (Rain) niaR. (Rain) enihsnuS.

Open Studio Tour with Ellen Gavin

On Sunday May 25th we went to visit Green Boots Studio for an open studio tour. The studio was well appointed with her work and she had a pianist and a harp player named Mary. I KNEW Mary from 12 years ago when we both were in the Philomusica Chorale back in 1995. She knew Ellen since they both lived in Philly. See the photos and the short Video

Isaiah Zagar: Philadelphia's Magic Gardens!

Friday I went to see Isaiah Zagar's mural on South Street. I was asked to take some pictures. I was amazed how cool it was Its truly one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. Just when you think you're done looking there's stairs to go down into another section. Then you turn a corner and there's even more. I took some pictures, well many pictures and did several
