Ignorance and Compromise

I was on the bus this past Monday and Tuesday and someone bet me $100.00 that President Obama would not run for a 2nd term. He was CERTAIN of this this. Well, I reduced it to 5 bucks which is much better. His reasoning is that President Obama has such a big ego that he would not run if he KNEW he was going to lose.
 He also informed me that under Sharia Law, President Obama is considered a Muslim since he was born to a Muslim father. According to this logic, a fatwa could be ordered to the President since Muslims are not ALLOWED to change faiths under Sharia Law. A 10 minute search did not find this to be true. This is part of political effort to spread fear and to advance the right-wing agenda. There are good profits to to be made spreading fear in the good ole USA. This

Its obvious that FOX news fed that garbage and if its repeated over and over with utmost certainty, then folks will buy into it. Even folks I know who are otherwise thoughtful and intelligent have been  known to spew this anti-Muslim hate. Ah yes, the political hackers  blabbing goes unabated.
Ok, fellow angry Liberels. Take a breath will ya. The compromise that President Obama is fine by me. Yes, the estate Tax provision is B.S and the rich really do not need help as recent corporate profits show. My firends, the political reality is that the USA elected more right-wing Republicans. Remember back in November?? The ONLY way the President was going to get ANY stimulus and help for the middle-class is to give the Republicans their piss-poor trickle-down tax cuts for the wealthy. To the national Democrats, your wimpy performance in DEFENDING policies that you passed caused the Republicans to have a field day on Election Day. Please accept this compromise and move on. Also, stop being such wimps to the right!! Its really stupid and depressing and does the United States no good.
On another topic, the  Delaware River Port Authority ( DRPA) is expected to vote on delaying toll hikes today at 9am. I love how they have their meeting at 9am today. Gee, I can tell my boss I am late to object to them spending my toll $$ on PORK while pick-pocketing me AGAIN!
Ah, yes, the Gov-Elect of Pennsylvania Tom Corbett is saying that the state of Pa can not afford a cost of living increase to the Pa Legislature. Well, duh, they are paid quite nicely thank you. This coming July, our Pa state employees contract is up. I will bet $100 bucks that he will not give us state worker drones ANY pay increase for the length of the upcoming contract. Its going to be the WORST contract in my 22 years of state service. It remains to be seen if Gov Corbett vilifies state employees like his mentor Gov. Christie does with the teachers and their union.
We now live in times that are taxing our minds and bodies. Some are losing hope and want to lash out, some are just going broke. Yet, the political class still is fiddling and and f*#&ing around with our lives and making it more likley that more of us lost hope. This will cede more power to the undeserving who profit from our collective recession
