Thursday, August 21: 6 AM Mike. Potluck

Good day everybody out here and Internet land. I had to get up at 5:20 AM to get ready to be at Mike’s by 6 AM because he has his procedure that starts at 7 AM. Fortunately, last night we thought ahead and I got my egg McMuffin sandwich at thisconvenience store last night. I said my goodbyes to Mary and then walked on down to Mike’s. it’s a good thing we got to the hospital because we had to sign in with the Front Desk getting an EKG done. We’re waiting on EKG and 6:48 AM. Well, Mike went off to surgery around 7:12 AM and I went to the luxurious liberty lounge. It’s really a nice waiting room. I looked at some TikTok videos charge my phone up and actually passed out for about 25 to 30 minutes which really felt good. And then around 11 AM I was told Mike was in the recovery room. They gave me a map to the recovery room. It’s in the basement. They installed this paperclip sized thing near his groin and and a plastic  device with that has a sort of pillow. I went into the recovery room and it smelt likes a nursing home smell.in It was really not pleasant was told by the nurses he’ll have to stay in there till 1:30 PM so his suture would heal. Mike was complaining about his leg hurting. The people came and explained the device. He has to use it once a day every day for the rest of his life to monitor his fluids near his heart. I decided how to get out of that smelly recovery room and I said I would get like a hotdog and a Diet Coke. I just thought I’d go outside and man. It is chilly out here. It’s nice little gust plus you can feel the faintness of a slight must outside, it’s not that pleasant. I’m glad I brought sweatpants and a and a Hot Yoga sweatshirt with mebecause it is cold, but it doesn’t smell out here which is cool. Is now 1135 I’m gonna go to the cafeteria and eat the sandwich & take my sweet time getting back to that smelly recovery room!!😬 It’s now 12:24 PM Mike supposed to get out by 1:30 PM. Got a Giro and munch down on that which was very very tasty. It’ll be soon time to get back to the smelly recovery room and give Mike his hotdog. It’s not 1:37 PM. Mike got official permission to leave, but we have to wait until they get the ordered wheelchair. I’m tempted just to find one in this carry it down myself, but I’m not gonna be that way. I feel a little better because I ate and I just reminded her with this place smells like it smells like a barn like hey. Anyway, I hope we can get out of here and order the Uber and get him upstairs with a stiff leg. Well, I’m at Mike’s right now listening to Bob Woodward or talk really really slow. He thinks he’s gonna stop fascism by talking on a podcast. Maybe he will, but I kind of, doubt it. I got really tired and kind of fell asleep in my chair got rapid when I eat or drink anythinganyway it’s 3:31 PM time to sign out. Anyway
some food put it in containers and then take an Uber to third Bainbridge for this get together for Loopie. Anyway,the class went on as scheduled and I was extra out of breath today. Maybe the humidity was down but it was pretty damn hot to me. I drank all my extra water now it’s 5:58 PM just relaxing

and listening to Toto‘s Rosanna, which is really badearlier Phil Collins invisible touch was playing. I think the young guy Cooper likes his stuff. Oh well, I’m just relaxing right now and then when Mary comes down, we’ll zip on down to her house and go to this potluck for Loopie’s last class which was today. Oh, we got the food prepared for the potluck and then we took an Uber all the way down to S. 3rd St. once we got there. People are already there Miah, Tina, Byron, & A few others. Jen game leader right after us. We sat in a nice dining room and talk and it was very nice. Food was delicious. Then all went outside in the luxuriously large backyard. I mean it was large for a row backyard let’s put it that way. We swap stories and got some really fun laughs! I think we got to know some people a little bit better and found out that a few more people are coming to the Yoga retreat in Cozumel Mexico. So far There at least 10 or 11 of us gonna be at that trip in Mexico. Couple people haven’t bought their tickets, but did they plan to go. We had good conversations from everything from Millville, New Jersey to has anyone ever gotten arrested etc. it was a good time. It was really fun. I had to message CODA that I couldn’t come because when I noticed the time it was 7:55 PM and there’s no way I was gonna be able to make it on time. It was a nice opportunity to get to know people that I see it almost every other day at the studio.
