Foglio's: Let There Be Art!!

Why don't we create an artist space for this building??
Living near the intersection of High and Pine Streets, I am fortunate to see changes and make observations on the state of the Arts District. As we all know we are under the great recession but recovery is on the way. (its a bit hard to see at this point)
Anyway, on the corner of High and Pine sits a building that used to be Foglio's. They sold flooring supplies. This corner is an important one since its right near the soon to be renovated Levoy Theatre and it sits in the middle of the Arts District here in Milville NJ.
Again, why don't we create an artist space for this building?
Not to sound too snotty or anything but do we REALLY need another hair place, Chinese resuruant, or dollar store in the Arts District? I do know that money is in short supply, that is why creativity is needed. Jim Penlin at JB & Me has come up with a creative idea to keep the hanging baskets up on High Street. I should bring it up to him.
Even if nobody can afford to fix it up now for the arts, we can have art hung inside and folks could look at it from the outside. It could be conceptual etc. Anyone who has info on the owners of the building or knows what is on the pipline let me know either on the comments part of this blog or at my email: mkrullrt55@gmail.comI have read the early history of the Millville Arts District in publications such as the Inferno and though word of mouth. It took creativity and hard work to get it started and with $$ dried up its high time to do it again!

We have a store called "Art Spring" that is volunteer run and occupies other-wise empty space in downtown Silver Spring. A local arts organization has an agreement with the landlord to pay a percentage of sales and they have to move when the landlord leases the space. This means they have to move around every now and then. And when the economy picks up, they'll be out of luck.
