This was a good move by the city:
"The city planning board on Monday tabled a presentation regarding pending
planning department projects, including the rezoning of a 310-acre tract of land
near Union Lake owned by Wawa.
Millville Planning Director Kim Ayres had
been scheduled to address the planning board with updates concerning rezoning
the Wawa tract, among other issues. The presentation has been pushed to the
Millville Planning Board's April 12 meeting.
The interest in rezoning
comes after nearly five years of failed residential development projects, most
notably from developer Matzel and Mumford, which raised problems regarding
neighboring traffic flow. Ayres has previously stated the "whole point" of
rezoning the land is to avoid a future "traffic nightmare."
The more communication the better I say. I think the city is working on avoiding more problems like another lawsuit. The city has a full plate of planning and land use issues. As the article dated March 9th states:
"The planning issues the planning director was scheduled to address include
recent development regarding the Council on Affordable Housing (COAH),
wastewater management, re-examination of the city's master plan, the pending
TrackRacket lawsuit against the city and the New Jersey Motorsports Park and the
availability of additional land dedicated as a noise buffer near the NJMP."
Well, I will try to make that April 12 meeting
