Millvile City Commission Meeting April 7th 2009

City Commission met last night. It started at 6:30 and there was some good news. First off, the city is nearing a deal to replace Millville Gardens. The city purchased the property for $2.7 million and took ownership last October. The proposed "Foundry Park" will have 36 market-rate homes, priced at $150,000, and six affordable housing units. Planning Director Kim Ayres said the plan would include a half-acre park for the neighborhood. This proposal had the smallest number of homes and there were no rental properties This is down from 120 Rental Units.
Next, Heather Santaro give a RAD report. 43 Home Rehab Projects have been completed and 13 folks have been helped in buying their first home. A total of 123 homes have been affected positively. 123,000 in investments. This is just after a year. The RAD was opposed by a few folks running to unseat the current Commission. I will be at the candidates forum being sponsored by Millville First. It is NEXT Tuesday April 14th 6:30 PM at the American Legion building on Buck Street. 9 of the candidates have confirmed that they will be there. I congratulate Millville First for holding this event. We can not hear what folks propose and get a public hearing.
The public hearing portion lasted as long if not longer then the meeting itself. A candidate for City Commission spoke and was informed by a sitting Commissioner.
Questions were raised about the Motorsports Park Financing. This went on till 8:25 as you can see the clock behind the speaker.

Are you still using your fraudulent Millville First.COM site for a legitimate reason?

Parody IS a legitimate reason, unless you do not believe in the 1st amendment.

I know from past history Millville First members such as Tesoroni and yourself have a distaste for the 1st amendment, but only for other people.

Let's keep Millville a slum, just like Bridgeton. Cut the taxes for the Section 8 landlords who really care about the growth and quality of life for Millville. More back room deals with the fratboys and Big Lou. Surely that's in the constitution, somewhere. Keep it a slum, keep it real simple for these yocals, Big Lou.

Might want to consider getting a good lawyer!

Look once and for all, owning section 8 housing is AN ENTITLEMENT GUARANTEED IN THE CONSTITUITION. THere's nothing in there about incresing taxes for the good of all.

Mark,

Your friend has an obsession with men's anatomy. Is that why he sits on his porch and videos his "male" neighbors?

Mark,is there a reason you allow Carl to post as cause i care with such rude remarks? Think I'll back away from this blog. no one wants to read vulgar remarks like this!

Maybe you should spend less time attacking people like Carl for things he didn't even say and more time praying to god to save your empty soul.

Boner Boy,

You must not be familiar with Carl. He has a habit of attacking everyone that disagrees with him (Millville Crime Watch, Cause I Care, Viol8tion, etc., etc., etc.), neighbors, business people, friends (Michelle Post), landlords (until they show up on his doorstep) and the list goes on. So if you are sensitive to remarks concerning Carl, maybe you should check his history. And some friendly advice, don't ever, ever, ever take a position different from his or you too will become a target of his vicious attacks.

That these posts, no matter what the issue, always get around to attacking Carl Johnson, is really getting old. Carl Johnson is one of the very few people in the county who has the courage of his convictions and has paid very dearly for speaking up against the self-dealing and patronage going on. That's why he's made enemies. People who don't speak up or who post attacks on others don't make enemies, but then they're gutless.

People who don't support their children are worse than gutless. They are a large part of the problems with have with youths because they lack the structure needed to keep them out of trouble. Don't cry poor when you puff and brag about your carefree lifestyle.

Everytime I read the comments on here and on the Daily Journal (I see you guys there, too) there's always someone crying about how Carl is attacking them.

People rant and rave about Carl, make their own personal insults, and claim he's attacking them.

Maybe those people should look in the mirror. As an outsider, I can see a lot of hypocrisy going on.

Sure, Carl talks a lot of trash, but he seems to go out of his way to try and find some proof for it. He also doesn't hide behind anonymous screen names, like most of us.

Why is it that whenever the merits of Millville First are questioned, the response is never a defense, but rather an attack on Carl Johnson? It is really getting crazy. As I understand it, a prominent MF leader had a hand in sending an attorney to Carl's wife (separated now 10 years) who offered his free legal services. Why is this MF leader so threatened that he is seeking to destroy Carl Johnson? And why did he join up with Lou Magazzu to use the Johnson situation as political fodder? I mean, does this county's politics really revolve around Carl Johnson? Seems that way to me.

You have your facts a little distorted. During the county elections, Carl was working for the Democrats. Based on the Replublicans association with Carl the Democrats swept the county elections.
