Birthday Fun, Trail Mix and Scap.

Dennis on Sunday
Scrap
Our Backyard
I already written about  last week and Saturday.   Sunday was a very busy day. First I moved stuff in the backyard such as the swing barbecue food for someone to pick up second move tiles from the car to the backyard and move the fence back then went shopping for various items such as clamps and the correct trail mix. After that I heard Carl called and picked up the scrap. I said I would meet up with him and we hung out a BoJos where we saw Dennis. Boy, that was a surprise!! He lo..s like VanGogh
Carl with Still Life with St. Jude
Next we went to Carl's house for his birthday where Homemade soup. Ummm..GOOD! Carl showed 2 of his newest works.I learned that some Haitians visit graves at Noon every day in November since is the month of the dead.
Also, I heard that the Weed and Seed $$ is set to expire September 30. The MPD will be writing tickets to ANYONE!! The "element" will be on the run. Speaking of the "element", a friend on the bus tells me Foundry St is know drug dealing area.
Now it's Monday morning and VERY FOGGY! As of 7am, the fog had not lifted. A new work week begins. As you will see on this blog soon, its gonna be a busy one

Friday and Saturday: HGTV, Carl's Corner and Good Food

Cool basement!!
Yesterday was a cold busy day at work, but it was payday and went by pretty fast. We were invited to Fred's house for a delicious dinner and pie for dessert. Linda and Dennis Taws were there as well. Dennis just got a $6,000 commission from well-known Millville businessman and Fred showed 2 older works of Dennis that he had bought years ago. Boy was he surprised. They are really visually striking that is for sure.
Umm...PIE!!!
I was looking for a link for Dennis and found 2 entries...from my blog. I did find this interesting link on Google. This company called Widgetbox has my site in some pieces. I will have to ask my brother John or Carl about that. Maybe I will also ask my friends Bob or Stuart about that as well
Today I joined Carolyne in an Ostara Yoga Class. Ostara Yoga is on Facebook.
It was a nice class and Carolyne had 2 new students. We then went to Densie's house and did some stuff and watched HG TV. Man, it shows fab houses for sale etc. Today they were at Cathie Lee Gifford's house. Man, what a cheezy place for such a rich woman. She has green plaid all over the walls. It looks better with Christmas stuff. This gay designer dude was making the place real spiffy that's for sure!!

The next place they went to and a has-been actress, Holly Robinson who is married to Former Eagles quarterback Rodney Peete. Remember him?? He also played for the Detroit Lions back in the day.
Well, we ordered  late lunch at the Golden Pigeon near a place they call Carl's Corner. It apparently is just an 5 way intersection between Bridgeton and Upper Dearfield. Here is a video of this place. As you can see, its just a street with a strip-mall feel. It gives you that feeling of sprawl that makes me feel ill at ease.
Well, that is all right now. Enjoy

Last Weekend: June 2010

Its again hot here at 11:56pm on Saturday June 26th. My cat is sprawled out next to me and the fans are blowing air all around. We have stayed off the AC's but we 3 new fans. I think we will still make out. One of the roommates uses the AC in her room and in her space but that is all so far. Friday took the car to work and happened to cruse on my old block at 49th and Locust Streets. It was sunny out and it pretty much looked the same as the video below shows. I see that the University City Swim Club got a pretty good mural on the wall at 49th Street between Spruce and pine. When I lived there the Garden Court Community Assn discussed this issue and I do not know when it was finished.

I got to work 15 minutes late but worked hard to clear away work and answer as many calls as I could. I got my evaluation on this day as well. It was good but one negative is that I can stir things up and I at times irritate others. No body's perfect. A Supervisor collapsed in the ladies room but was conscious when the ambulance showed up. It was a bit scary and I hope she is ok.
Today, I went to Carolyne's yoga class. I first had to have some iced coffee to wake me up and it seemed to work. Carolyne, Steve, and Janet had a photo shoot with a student photographer, who Carolyne met on Facebook thru Piranha Betty's Facebook page. This gallery put her plan to have photo shoots with artists in their studios. We learned that Piranha Betty's closed and that the woman who ran it went home to Nova Scotia. I forgot her full name but I did remember that her last name was Dye. She was cool and seemed to know what she was doing. She took really good photos of Carolyne with June our small pup. I am looking forward to seeing her blog and then the book that that she plans to publish. She also had a photo shoot with Dennis Taws as well. I am curious of what he thought of his session. I suppose I might find out pretty soon. We are planning to have dinner with Fred Kramer Monday night. What a treat that will be. He is good company who cooks wonderful food.
Well, the US Soccer Team LOST to Ghana 2-1. It was fustratating game to watch. The US had its chances and Ghana took advantage of 2 US defensive errors to prevail. this is the 2nd World Cup in a row that Ghana ended the US run! Phillies lost 5-1 to the Toronto Blue Jay and the Oil from the BP oil well STILL keeps on flowing in the the Gulf and a tropical storm is heading toward the Gulf as I write this.
Well, good night. Time to shower and cool off. The heat keeps on coming and it seems not to end. Its really now 1:12am and its really time to hit the sack

May 12

The day started with the extractions. The dentist was pretty efficient. Heck, filling out the paperwork took just as long as the removal of the 2 teeth. I saved $325 by going with Novocaine instead of the the sodium penithal(laughing gas). They x-rayed my mouth with this contraption that circled my skull to get a full copy of my teeth. It was much more comfortable then having 5 x-rays done. I came home and took the pain killers and crashed for 4 hrs. That was good.
I then did my sensible work and that went well. I spoke to a manager and got 6 done. While doing my sensible stuff, I ran into Dennis Taws and a person who moved in an apt where some Millville malcontents used to live. She had met Dennis and we talked a bit. I went to the McDonald's to end my being sensible. After that I went to the Cosmopolitan in Vineland. Its near the burned out Loyale Lanes. Its a pretty nice-looking place, not what one would expect in Cumberland County NJ. I went to Rita's birthday party. She had sent a text on Monday and since I was nearby, I thought I would stop by. I hung out,met new friends, had a cold one and went on shopping at the Shop Rite. Had to find stuff like rice milk and organic fruit and veggies. While finishing my errands, I ran into this dude with a funky look. His earlobes were distorted. I was told what it was but of course I just plum forgot. Click on the photo to see what I mean. If you know what it is please put in the comments section or send me an email. Guess I am getting older and have no teenage babies.
Next Tuesday, I may take the day off to see the ground-breaking for the Levoy Theatre. Its at 2pm and taking the bus makes going to work a bit of a joke. The Flyers JUST tied up their series with the Boston Bruins 3-3. They were down 0-3 just last week. Tomorrow they could be the 3rd team in NHL history to win a series after being down 0-3. That would be pretty exciting. I will admit that I have not watched any of the games but have read the Inquirer and the Metro (Free paper on SEPTA) Well, its time to go to work. After work walk a dog, see a friend and go to whole foods for carpet cleaner and some other stuff. Its still cold out too. I am sure in 2 weeks I will be putting in the AC's. Memoral Day is coming up soon.

Sunday

Sunday and several friends stopped by and hung out. Carolyne sampled her art with Dennis and Linda. It was pretty rainy out so not many came in the gallery. It nice to have a break from the day to day stuff. We tried out the new chinese buffet and it was pretty good. You can request vegitarian if they do not have it available. It was fresh but bring your own hot sauce or ask for theirs. Its much taster hot but then again this is my opinion.

GoggleWorks

We drove to Reading with Linda and Dennis to an old glasses factory called Goggleworks. It was cool scene and the art was very interesting. I grooved to a band from Philly called The Sweatheart Parade. We intend to make visits like this more often.
