Saturday, March 21: Massage, Mike’s Appt. & Yoga

After sleeping till about 9:15 AM, it’s time to get up and get a massage of my hamstring and other muscles in near my leg and gluteus maximus and my lower back. So I wobbled over downtown to 1518 Walnut St. It was gloriously sunny this morning it was a little cool, but it was very bright and sunny for the second day of spring. I went to the massage session. Oh my God I don’t know how sports athletes do what they do cause my hamstrings were just like tight as hell. That’s all I can say. It was a good session, but there were some parts that were so tight. Unbelievable. I talked to Mary and she wanted some coffee so I went to the Montreal spread baker bakery, and got some coffee for both of us and came back to her place within went hotel shopping in Anchorage and after about two hours, we found a place to stay that was reasonably priced for Alaska standards. Alaska is a very expensive place to go. Everything’s jacked up in the summer. I guess because they can’t do anything in the winter because it’s half of. It’s in the Arctic Circle. We then went to Mike’s and Mary help me make his bed. Was a lot easier having her around do it cause I was frustrated. And then picked up some garbage and and then we walked over to byron’s 4 o’clock class. That was a good class. It was on the third floor. Some of his yoga student students were there as well. It’s now 6:17 PM. . I left my phone in the Yoga studio unfortunately byron was there to answer the phone. I was able to get my phone. Next, we decided to go to Trader Joe’s and get these bowls and my favorite is the Cuban style bowl. We bought about nine or 10 of them so it’ll be stocked. It looks like there’s a special Indian holiday so the Indian stores might be closed often on this coming week. Anyhow, we discussed Alaska and watched Law and order and a movie called insomnia which takes place in Alaska. It has Al Pacino and Heather Swank  in it. It was made in 2002 which is over 20 years ago, which is interesting. Anyhow, we’re slowly making plans for the last step. There’s a lot involved with it.

Thursday June 26:Parsonage-Turner Syndrome

I had to get up early because I’m having an EMG test conducted. It’s in Jefferson Hospital land which means I have to go to 25 S.9th St. Plenty of time but

the 17 bus to show six minutes early in the elevator took forever to catch cause everybody’s leaving for work. Some woman on the seventh floor was looking at her phone
 and I yelled
at “seventh floor.“ She called the elevator I ended up missing the bus and walking at chestnut Street. Fortunately the bus came fairly quickly. I just called back fairly quickly for the EMT appointment. They did
some motion test. She took a look at my wing scapula and this test has two parts some kind of nerve diode thing and then the acupuncture needles. This is the

second part. I just finished the EMG. It was pretty intense. Yes I have nerve damage on both sides. The left side. I have it on my rotator cuff, on my right side.

I have it near my scapula. They don’t know if the nerves will recover or not. They have no idea there’s nothing they can really do about it. I have this syndrome called Parsonage Turner syndrome. Yeah, I feel pretty beat

up right now but at least I know what I have just do PT till I’m dead, I guess. Anyhow, I rested afterwards. I walked all the way back and I lied down to Mike’s bed for a minute

looked at TikTok videos and drank some super coffee to offer me blessed relief. I talked with Mary and Mike. Mike is definitely getting out of the hospital

today around 1 o’clock. Mary then came over to Mike’s place and we did some further

organizing and cleaning before you got home. We put the bookshelf

where the clothing was and put the clothing where the bookshop bookshelf

was right behind Mike so he can grab his own clothes. We then talk

to Mike for a while. Mary and I walked back to her place and I picked up my yoga
clothes and walked all the way back to

Mike’s to sign out by 3:30 PM.  Well, I went to class and Lupe was teaching.

This is one week since I came to my first class and loopy taught it. I did

my usual, not using my arms and shoulders routine. I’m starting to routine

it, but it still feels different. Afterwards, we hung out at the studio

and we talked to Evan. He’s going away to perform out in California. So he’ll

be gone the entire month of July. I went to my CODA meeting
