Friday, October 24: Mike’s issues! Trip to Silver Spring

Good day everybody I think I slept pretty well, but I’m still a little bit tired of course. It’s a cool partly sunny day here in Philadelphia. I went back to Mike’s. He had to move from the bed and then the

physical therapist came over. Tony encouraged Mike to get out of the bed. He asked Mike a series of questions and Courle and had the doctor call him back. The doctor called back and Mike managed

to get a 11:30 AM doctors appointment at 800 Walnut the place with the funky elevators and the security guards. I guess this was better than shipping them off to the emergency room. So

We got there early and they saw him pretty quickly and they dosed him with OxyContin and some kind of heating pad thing. I don’t know. And then Mike has to make an appointment to get blood

work done and possible x-ray to look at his neck. So there’s another stop at Measure so it’s now 2:58 PM and the pharmacy isn’t done with the OxyContin yet and Mike’s lobbing out in his bed doing

Mike things. I’m trying to get out at 3:30 so I can pick up the rental car at 30th St. I just thought of something maybe I’ll just take an Uber to 30th St. sounds like a waste of money when I can just catch

the Broad Street sub to 15th and then go to 30th. I don’t know it’s a bit funky. Looking forward to taking a nice road trip. I think I might just take myself another super coffee since I’m not doing yoga today. Mary has her

First act together and everything’s ready on her end. I’m just trying to clear up my end of things. Well, I came back to Pharmacy at 3:30 PM and they tell me then that the OxyContin isn’t available and I asked

them why they couldn’t have had it. They couldn’t have told me earlier making some ham-handed excuse about a secret lockbox for the OxyContin. So they also told me that the doctors office phone line wasn’t working

and I tried it myself and lo and behold. It wasn’t ringing or anything. It was absolutely absurd, so I got back to Mike’s phone the bad news and we tried calling the doctors

Aoffice and they did pick up and some guy answered and said he would contact the pharmacy. I also went back to the pharmacy and told them

to call the doctors office since it wasn’t glitching anymore. I then dropped off Mike’s heart monitor thing at Staples where they have UPS drop off and then finally caught the train and headed

to 30th St. now 4:20 PM. I’m supposed to pick up my Rental at four. Yikes. Well, I got to pick up and Hertz gave no problem in picking up the car it went very smoothly. Anyhow, I went to Mary’s

got last-minute provisions and then we headed down towards I-95. We then talked to Alice about our artwork and geezers are giving which was cool. After that, we had it on Down Penrose Ave.,

South Philly really slow and then we finally got on 95 we then got off at Newark Delaware to avoid the toll and decided we’d have our dinner at the Wawa on the way cause it’s a good time and it’s already 7:13 PM. We

probably won’t arrive at the hotel till at least 8:30 PM. We arrived at the Marriott and checked in with much ease. We got ourselves organized and decided that we weren’t gonna watch any TV and stuff but the Toronto Blue Jays did whip up on the Los Angeles Dodgers game One 11–4. That was a good thing. They did play at Toronto in Toronto has to win its home games to have a chance to beat the Dodgers.
