Thursday in Buffalo

Kerry and Jamie at Dinner
This is where I really am!
Walking the Dog.
Yesterday in sunny Buffalo the grass is green the highways are paved and the interstate sign say Thruway West Erie & interstate 90 Downtown. Actually my friend lives about 15 minutes from downtown Buffalo. This town is called Cheektowaga and its not too bad here. Kerry lives in an upstairs apartment and pays a $50.00 more then I do
Bailey and I

Yeah, we chill and she has Wi-Fi which is a big plus. last year i had to go to a coffee shop to get any web access. Kerry made us a chicken salad that was nice but BOTH of us were so stuffed that we had to walk 3 miles with the dog to feel better. we kept on walking is so nice out it's unbelievable Buffalo in the spring in Gay
Paris but it'll certainly do because I have a dear friend named Kerry who can cook up a storm. Here is our dinner of homemade Calzones.

To make 2 Calzones.
Start with Ground Italian sausage ground beef.
Pepperoni, mushrooms, green pepper, onion. While frying, she throws parm and Romano cheeses into the mix. Also while cooking she mixes Italian herbs and spices. She buys refrigerated pizza dough.
She spreads it on a cookie sheet and cuts It in half cross-wise,

On half of EACH half, she spreads Ricotta cheese a layer of Mozzarella, then a layer of the meat mixture. Then more Parm, Romano then another layer of Mozzarella. Next she folds the dough in half and seal the edges. She bakes them at 425 degrees for 12 minutes. Then tops with WARM pasta sauce.
Bailey was Pleased! :)
That was a delicious treat for all to eat. I posted on Facebook as well. I ate an ENTIRE one and that is because it was very fresh and it went

down smooth. Forget steak, let me have one of these babies!!!!!!!!!!
Now are these not the cutest animals you have seen. I mean I see plenty of pets on Facebook but staying over here with these cuties just makes me want to have one on my own.  They are sweet as could be that's for sure. She has 2 Grumpy Cat! This animal is such an inspiration to us who need to please too much. I say Go Grumpy Cat Go!! Yes, and  am in the "friend zone" and its not bad for me at all.
other cats as well which makes for a warm place to stay over for a few days. We decided when we have to say "NO!" to anybody we just have to think of.
I found some old posts from my "dead" blogs I started while I was going though my "changes" It was interesting to say the least. It gives perpective

Another Inactive Blog Entry: January 3rd 2012

Here is a blog entry from one of my 7 or so inactive blogs. I keep thinking I will make new ones but I go back to the one that has the most history. Here is a blog post written March 29, my 15th day of Sobriety. This is one of an occasional series of blog postings since early 2012. This inactive blog is called Freak Show on Parade. This is when I first moved in my current place. Note the condition of the ceiling!

Can I vote with this ID/
Today, Tuesday, January 3 and I was back to work at the welfare office. It all went pretty good . I can say one thing about today, that is that it is cold outside!! It is very cold and windy. I managed to get up on time and walked my friend's dogs, then went to the apartment to take stuff out of the trunk so it would not be freezing in the trunk.

Kitchen Jan 3rd 8:55 am
Work was ok. Since my supervisor was not in, it was pretty relaxed and my co-workers helped me since I forgot some stuff. I had to reset up the computer and recopy stuff. My goal is to make the desk neater. I cleaned off my phone which was pretty groady.

This morning I was dizzy

My landlord is going to add a cabinet and put in a ceiling light. He does tend to jerry-rigg his stuff and I am afraid that when he installs the ceiling light that it will look slummy. Well he did email me today

Make ANY Trash Can a Recycle Can!
I'm back in town, and I spent some time this morning with the metal detector trying to locate any significant metal (besides nails and screws) in your kitchen ceiling. There seems to be none. So it's up to us to pick a spot from which to hang the fan and light. I guess I'd go for the middle of the room, where lines from the corners of an imaginary box (bypassing the stove area as outside the box) would cross -- or the cross beam nearest to that spot. If you have another preference, let me know. I'll probably begin that project (cutting a hole, installing a box, and running some wire from the switch to the new box) tomorrow or Thursday, if that's ok with you.
I've also identified a kitchen cabinet that seems appropriate -- not new, but with a plain wood finish. What would you like installed first, the cabinet or the fan-light?
I emailed some friends of mine to get their opinion and they had good advice. My favorate of them was this
gem:

I'd avoid having that guy do any electrical work. We've seen his skillz.

You can probably add a plugin type of light fixture that can be mounted but doesn't need any in the wall wiring. If you are looking to have a light that you can switch on when you come into the apartment without stumbling around there are these remote control switches that can do that.

I can just imagine your landlord scanning the ceiling with a metal detector!
Ceiling back Nov 28. Where Ceiling Fan is to go???
I will keep my eye out and keep folks appraised on this ongoing process of creating a decent place to live at a value price. The photo of the ceiling is where the light is to go. I did work to make that ceiling nice and I really do not want it to look like THAT photo you see to the left. Is that UGLY or WHAT???

Well, I get up again to walk Mikes dogs  but before I go to bed, I am going to try to install a 10 dollar deal for MS office from work.

31st March 2012

Here is a blog entry from one of my 7 or so inactive blogs. I keep thinking I will make new ones but I go back to the one that has the most history. Here is a blog post written March 29, my 15th day of Sobriety. This is one of an occasional series of blog postings from my inactive blogs

Today is Saturday. I just came back from a meeting. Now I am having a coffee and listening to the Rachel Maddow show on my computer. This show is great. Its nice to just chill here on a cool cloudy day in the last day of March. I bought a Galaxy 500 album. Brings me back to 1989 and 1990. I was open to new music then. Now I have to be open to more stuff. Do I really have a choice now?? I talked to a friend for an hour and that was fun. I still have to shop for Pat and do my shopping and laundry errands.

My right side of my back is hurting now but much better after a hot shower.

Vising my mom to morrow and will see my brother and his wife too.

The photo above is a photo of me on Gmail video chat. The video is the video chat in action. I was pretending to be from another planet.  This is what my friend saw when talking to me. We tried to reboot and sign on and off but Thursday night this is what I got. Its pretty cool. I like being a geek. Beats other activities I have done and its cheap too. The best part is that I can stay in touch with my good friend.

Soon,  I hope to get another iPhone so I can take my own photos again. This will encourage me to blog again.. This is my 3 remake of a new blog. I think this one will stick since, I get to count my days of not drinking and stuff.

I hope I can be more social with my friends from my meetings. I am finding out that making new friends is now difficult for me when it used to be easy. Well, it took months to make real friends in Millville and then I move away.  Oh well, day by day man.

Next weekend spending time with Carolyne and her family.

May Day 2013: From Buffalo to Seattle!

Workin It!!
Getting set to leave for Buffalo on the the MEGABUS now.Meanwhile enjoy this reading from this week.
Good evening this is May 1st. it is international workers day. It is the time we say MAYDAY!!.. MAYDAY!!.. I am sure they were saying that in Seattle yesterday. They had violent May Day protests just like they did back in 1999 when the WTO came to town. The police were roundly criticized for their lack of control and professionalism. This led to the police state atmosphere in Philadelphia for the 2000 Republican Convention. I remember that well. The subways were the cleanest ever, The sleaze on the Admiral Wilson Boulevard was bulldozed in week, AND there were police EVERYWHERE. A puppet warehouse was raided and folks were wrongly arrested. Why do I say that?? Well, all the charges were dropped at trial. This was just suppression by the Philadelphia Police with ample help, I am sure from the Feds!
PACKING!!
I was feeling like me this morning. I decided to post photos that date over 30 years ago on Facebook and Route 55. I had fun choosing the photos and sharing them! After all that I went to work till 7:30. I was pretty darn tired and I decided I would

take a nap. That was good and I got the  rest I needed to get packed and get ready to  get on the 11pm Megabus. I got to the line at 10:30 and that was good since I wanted to get a seat in the front seats of the 2nd level of the bus. There is a great view of the road and scenery since the windows are so clean and large. While waiting in the line for 27 minutes, I found myself around some young

college students  The young girl was talking to 2 Asian women of the same age and kept mentioning that she was meeting her boyfriend,  saw boyfriend in his band. etc. Even the 2 women she was talking to seemed to mimic her and say that she had a boyfriend too. Man, I was starting to get a gag reflex!!  Boy I forget that girls her age love to mention their boyfriend. It's even better if they are in a band. If I had to sit near her for 10 hrs I would just move away.Well, the trip went dandy. I had a seat with NO seat in front of me and was able to doze off for most of the trip. I did get up for the sunrise
