Thursday, January 1: New Year’s Day 2026

This morning I ended up sleeping until 9:30 AM because my alarm wasn’t set but that’s fine. I used to sleep well I think. My back didn’t quite hurt as much but I still was not able to sleep on my left 

shoulder at all. I did try to do that once. I decided I would take Lyft to my to Mike’s place because it was cold and I was running super late. I took the wait and save 

and boy they did make me wait. They are charging higher rates because of the traffic closures due to the mummers parade. The guy eventually picked me up and he’s a very nice man driving a Tesla. 

Anyway, he dropped me off a half a block away from Mike’s because the streets are closed at 15th. I got the Mike’s through a few things out and lo and behold. His monitor started to work 

again so that’s really good. It’s almost like a New Year’s miracle. I decided I would leave Mike’s and head over to Mary’s, but I decided to walk down Broad Street and get a quick look at the mummers parade. 

It just started and they’re doing the I think the comics where they wear goofy stuff. So it was fun to listen to that for a little bit my God it’s very cold today. It’s at least sunny and it’s not windy thank God 

for that. It’s now 11:11 AM. I’m gonna go to the Montreal spread bagel and give her a report. how crowded it is. Well, Mary didn’t answer the phone so I went ahead. Got two iced tea and my Pepsi‘s at the 

corner store. I decided that I wouldn’t wake her up cause she obviously needs to sleep. I didn’t know what to do with myself so I looked up an AA meeting. There’s one at the ethical Society at 12:15. I decided 

to go back to Montreal spread bagel at least got a coffee. I also had another banana to keep my stomach happy. It’s now 11:39 AM. Well, it’s not 12:07 PM. Mary woke up and decided she wanted to order a 

bagel so she got a special and I got it egg white they didn’t have any egg whites so regular old eggs. I don’t know what that means but I went with it. So I’m sitting here next to a bunch of young people talking 

about what they’re gonna name their kids it’s really weird. Anyway I guess I’m not going to the meeting because that starts at 12:15  And the people planning for their pregnancies have about 10 people



 ordering stuff right now so I’m just gonna hang out and finish this blog or at least this part of it. Yeah, my shoulder starting to kick it in here but family planning is going on to the left of me and I’m just sipping my coffee. I think the big order next to me is finished so I should be ready in about five minutes or so. Well, due to the sustaining 30 mile an hour gust out there in the cold temperatures for 

safety concerns. The Mummers string band competition was postponed. It’s kind of sucks because who’s gonna go out on January 7 or 14th to go see the string bands after that the New Year’s mood is gone.  

Anyhow, I left Mike’s at 5 PM and walked on over back to Mary’s and we talked and had some tea. We discussed the fact that Cozumel is only two weeks away, which is kind of mind blowing January is going to be 



a very very busy month. I must say. We’re going to watch a movie called the human stain and then watch Law and order. I need some Indian from Royal Indian. It was very tasty and good. We thought about watching a couple movies but we decided against it. We’re trying to get ready for our trip to New York City, which is Saturday. The temperature is going to 

be bone chilling cold. Tomorrow, Nichole and Tony are showing up and I’m mailing off something for For Mike and I need to buy thermal underwear because we’re gonna be outside in New York a lot.

Sunday, September 2: The Move from HELL!!

I am beginning this blog post and 8:48 PM. He is going to U-Haul 

 o get the hitch so the car can be towed by the truck. I got about 45 minutes of sleep but I’m hanging in there. There of been a few little misunderstanding that kind of remind me when I was in married life with and follow directions so well in this case,  the other person got very frustrated because   didn’t indicate everything but I 
 ndicated everything was empty in the kitchen and it was not! There’s just too much shit in here. Emptied out the bedroom I just took down the curtains now John’s hoping will be out of here by 12 noon. I definitely need instruction 

 ecause she wants to save a lot stuff. Yes after this 
experience I am not moving anybody until they pay me upfront it’s too much  way too much. Well, I did not finish till proximately 8 PM. He had to put the car on the ramp and we can get 

 verything and he can’t maybe out to not write you Ohio and I took that. I just wanted to be home12 hours behind  estimate. Actually close to 24 hours. I was giving out not 

 o come to Ohio when I jumped on it because you know where I wan to be 

 omewhat coherent at work on Monday and salvage what’s left of the holiday weekend.
 Working and getting treated like a two-year-old child. The man was not ready to move and should have a stuff prepared yes I could have 

 one better but three hours sleep in two days and the pressure to do things exactly the way 

 e wanted was just too much for me to deal with obviously. So I’m done with moving people. I would be a lot more choosy about how much
 I’m going to do and 
 top when I said I’m gonna stop in today having open ended commitments
 like the Vietnam war or the Iraqi war. If person doing the movie shouldn’t have other people picking up the burden of their lack of preparedness.
 I’m not a professional and I’m not paid like one. Imagine this if you will moving someone who is picky on three hours of sleep in two days working like a dog and treated like a dog and you get the idea. Yes I allowed it to 

 appen that I take complete blame for. Well I did manage to exchange my freedom and leave early. I caught the train from Nashaminy Falls 

  and the train led me to freedom. FREE AT LAST! I came home and got a little bit to eat and got a nice text message thanking me for my move…

I actually engaged and he sent at least three more screeds of bad behavior not listening and doing wrong shit with stuff. I write this blog only to remind me never let this happen to me again. I will never forget Labor Day 2018. I did labor all day for two days
