Saturday, January 3: day trip to NYC. US Invades Venezuela.

Hi boys and girls it’s 4:27 AM. We’re getting ready to hit New York City. First we’re going to warm up for coffee, then get dressed etc. We’re going to catch an Uber in about 10 minutes to Amtrak 30th St., Station. We bought these tickets back on November 8 or seventh. We’re starting to wake up. Mary bought coffee yesterday so we have coffee prepared which was nice also wearing a new shirt. I was painting through thread and I caught this. The US is bombing Venezuela as we speak. Trump says US seizes Venezuelan leader! what the hell I

guess he’s not gonna get that goddamn piece prize he’s been Yammering about for the last 6️⃣ months. Can’t believe we’re getting into another goddamn  war!! What an asshole. Well, we arrived at 30th St. wasn’t nearly as crowded as the last time we went to New York suddenly a line

formed and we were a little slow we were we’re still in good shape when it compared to the last time we’re not against the wall like we were last time. Meanwhile, threads is going crazy about the US

invasion of Venezuela that happened at the crack of dawn this morning. Anyhow, the drink left on time and is now 7 AM and the sun is rising right now. Beautiful sunrise

we just can’t see it from our side of the train cause we’re facing west in the sunrise rises in the east and sets in the west least out in this part of the world. Anyhow, we should get there at 7:48 AM then
we take the one train up to Royal Café and either get a coffee or a smoothie who knows. Well, it was a pretty glorious sunrise on the other side of the train. The sun is really bright and orange. It’s 7:33 AM. We’re about 15 minutes from Penn Station. It’s gonna be a nice sunny and cold day today. Good day for sightseeing through uptown

Manhattan. We arrived at Penn Station right on time. We had to walk about a block and a half to get to the one train that goes uptown towards the Bronx. We

got off at 79th St. after paying with Apple Pay that makes it so much more convenient to ride around the subway. We ended up at the Royal Café, which is just really puny place that just had enough seats

for us to sit meat in most people do take out here. I picked this place randomly on the map so we could sit neat before going to Central Park the Dakota and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We can also

check out zebras. I believe it’s called. Some guy used to live in, Fishtown told us about it, and he was sitting here at the café, waiting for his order.

So it’s now 8:26 PM our goals to get to the Metropolitan Museum art close to 10 o’clock, but we can play around that time sunny and cold out here

in in the upper west side. Well, we walked and caught the M-79 Bus I went down 72nd St. thank God we didn’t walk because we were froze our

butts off. We met this really nice couple of the bus stop who were volunteers at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They gave us some tips and and

we got off the right bus stop after a little while we did go right through Central Park. Didn’t get a great view of the park, but we did go underneath

it and through it. Once we got there, oh my God that building is so big. There was already a big line forming. Fortunately, we got through

pretty quick paid her way in and saw all this cool Greek art. That was the first thing you see when you get into the museum the man races if

it wasn’t much further away. Once you got there, we were completely overwhelmed out what a large collection of work he did he first started out as an artist in the 1920s and later on went to photography

and creating “Rayographs..” It was a large collection they had there is what I’m trying to say. I was I videotaped so much that I ran out of battery

towards the end of the exhibit. I did attempt to charge it in some corner of the area, but one of the museum doses were not too please so I pulled the

plug when the battery was at 11%. We then sat and tried to figure out where we’re going to eat. We decided we would eat at the museum itself so

I we finally went to a place at cafeteria style dining. Oh my God, some guy was really nice and helped us get there. It was clear across the entire museum and we were never figured out. We walked by some

African art while we were there and that was really cool. We probably would’ve never found the place or taken another 15 minutes to find it. Place

was perfect. It wasn’t too crowded. It had cafeteria -style dining, which made things a lot easier. Well, we took our sweet time eating and charging our phones. I got my phone charged up to about 80% from zero

so that was good. The food tasted good and we just chilled out and mellowed out and warmed up. It’s also a little less crowded. There was this woman talking real loud. She was young and arrested. People

were my age or a little bit younger. She’s talking that she’s invited to a “sex party“ and said that she only did dancing there wherever that place was. She was definitely making herself into a spectacle.

She was talking about selling her her scooter because it’s dangerous to drive a scooter in New York City. It was Funny actually. Well, after

we finished eating, we decided that we would take an Uber up to the Dakota where John Lennon used to live before you was assassinated. Also,

there was strawberry fields, which is Central Park right across from the Dakota. We took an Uber and the Uber looked like a goddamn cab. He couldn’t tell the difference

so that’s how they do with the cabbie are also Uber driver so I guess that’s good for them because they’re gonna make money. He was a nice guy and tried to explain the whole bullshit with us. We didn’t care.

We got to the Dakota and looked at it. It’s quite the impressive looking building. They have a big gate in front which leads to a courtyard for the special people who live there. It looks

like a really expensive place. I mean, Connie Chung and her husband live there so you gotta make you know radio TV personality money to live there. Also, it’s right across the street from

Central Park. After we look around and took a bunch of pictures and video we decide to venture fourth into Central Park. We saw Strawberry Fields

and they had some Len souvenirs and I got refrigerator magnets there. Then, we walked further and we decided to go to Bentley Castle.. That was a pretty cool place.

It took us about 15 minutes ago. I think we took the long way there. We did note that there was a bunch of horse, driven carriages and carts. People

are driving around one of them playing sat at a couple and played Saturday night fever and a couple of them were playing Beatles music.

Went to the castle and it was pretty cool. We had some good views and we did notice that New York definitely had more snow than Philly because in

Philly right now you would know it snowed at all. In New York it’s very noticeable that it did snow in the past. So after we went to the castle, we

decided to try to catch the bus since I saw a street nearby. We ended up catching the bus after figuring out which side we’re supposed to be on. That

took us to the Root one train that we took earlier which we picked up at 79th St. and Broadway. Nana just took us to 34th near Broadway at Penn Station.

We took the entrance that you have to walk about a block in New York City block to get to the train. So we’re here at Penn Station at 4:46 PM. I’m trying to decide whether I should eat something or get coffee, etc. etc. I think maybe I’ll get one of those overpriced Starbucks coffees that don’t sell super coffee of course that seems to be

Aa boutique item that you can’t find anywhere. I’m a little bit tired, but I’m OK and so is Mary pretty crowded out here today? Anyhow, we killed time at

Penn Station. It was really crowded and there was nowhere to sit at the Moynahan acceptance a few select spots. We noticed that New York City is

colder than Philly mean there was remains of snow that we haven’t seen in days. So they must’ve gotten a lot more snow than we did here in Philly. Took the train and I fell asleep for about half hour

cause I was really tired then we arrived in Philly took an Uber and then just unwound and had fun talking about cheesy beer and drinks we used to have back in the 80s and 70s. Anyway, we’re going to get food at the Royal Indian and and end our evening. It was a good day New York’s fun but it’s good to be home. It was good real good trip. I’ve heard that the weather is supposed

to warm up over the next week a little bit because these cold temperatures are getting old fast. We still have more to see in New York, New York a big place!  This is just anybody who’s ever been to New York. It’s a fun trip. We will be back. We will stay overnight somewhere

one day we did that once before but as you know, New York is not cheap in any way shape or form.
