Pa State Budget Inpasse

Well, New Jersey got their budget on time but in Pennsylvania its far from settled. This means that state employees such as myself will not get paid starting July 17th. Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, R-Delaware County states that this impasse: I really don't think that we're anywhere near close, It has potential to go into August easily ."

This is an outrage that occurs year after year.
But now we have a new and even more egregious twist suggested by His Excellency Fast Eddie because the so-called "leadership" of this state cannot do the one job they actually need to do (pass a budget), state employees can either default on THEIR bills and see THEIR credit take a big hit OR take out personal loans to effectively subsidize the state, because that is what is being suggested.
State employees are expected: 1) to work their full-time shifts until the politicos manage to deal with a problem that the politicos created, AND 2) to keep themselves, their families and the Commonwealth afloat through personal loans! Why should people have to get a loan when they are working when they should be paid?
Would you like to work on a promise of being paid at an unknown date in the future? It's a public scandal and a public disgrace.

This is just like California's issuance of IOUs. I suspect PA will come to an agreement prior to your next paycheck. At least you aren't being furloughed. ;)
