Open Space Preservation not a Priority for County!

Open space preservation not a priority for county yet?
I read this and have questions..
County Taxes up but no room to keep Cumberland County from turning into North Jersey. Are we in a ratables chase?? Does either party have a stance?

"Last year, Freeholder Jeff Trout proposed a county historic preservation program, but that met a tepid response from Democratic freeholders in the majority. Open space could prove an easier sell, but county taxes have risen in nearly every town this year."
