When Pigs Fly

The picture is of a rally held by Radio Station 101.5. They took Corzine's statement that "Pigs will fly before Trenton makes meaningful cuts in spending."
I listen to the morning program with Jim Ehardt sometimes. He is not as rude as the afternoon jerks who make fun of people with accents etc...
Anyway, they bust on New Jersey and call the political system in Trenton the "BLOB"

This station is Republican orientated but they do make good points on how Trenton is outta touch with the cold realities of being in Jersey. I resent the fact that they changed the School Funding System in the "Lame Duck" Session of the Legislature and that they Screwed some of the ABBOTT SCHOOLS. They gave Millville a puny 2% increase in school funding and I think they are up to Michief in the future. Take a look at your real estate tax bill. On it will be the amount of taxes you would pay IF THE STATE TOOK AWAY ITS FUNDING!
Anyway eveyone stay vigilent and show up to meetings. Planning Board, School Board, Zoning, Commission. You can see what our local govenment has to deal with to make Millville better.

Well, got to get ready to drive back to Philly.

Awesome blog man. When we were filming in Millville, one of the most interesting stories we discovered was the 3rd Friday thing and how they were trying to bring the artists to town.

I told them getting college bands from Rowan, Cumberland CC, Atlantic CC and even Stockton might be worth looking into. . . but regardless, good things seem to be happening. Hope the county can keep up the momentum in Millville.

Dear Steve
Thanks for the props man! Do you have a sample of your film? We have a store called New Revelation records. You might want to talk to Bryan. I will email you. Stop by again. We can show you a good time

Good post dude. One thing that bothers me is that the state reimburses citys and countys for property taxes. Because doesn't that money come from taxes too? So does it really matter that our porperty taxes are lower if other taxes subsidize them? Plus there's a whole government boondoggle around collecting and redistributing taxes. I'm not sure if the system works.

Mark,
Nice picture. I must have missed you at the rally?

This is a no brainer - if the system worked, why would we continue to spend and borrow? Like our local elected officials, keep spending and when you run out of money, raise taxes. And when people complain, compare the way things look now to how they looked ten years ago (but don't make mention of the unbearable increase in their taxes for all these improvements). Anyone is capable of making improvements if you give them a blank check. Cut costs and reduce spending.
