The Fouth Estate..Why is it Late??

I was thinking bout this time of year and how the media with its splashy sexy stories creates a reality that is not the truth. It can be the NY Times with that crack reporter Judith Miller who bought into the lies of the Bush administration with the Iraq War. Or even a local paper the Daily Journal with its hard-hitting Articles . The media does have a role to play in keeping the govt honest and sometimes it does what I believe it is supposed to do such as uncovering the Bush Administration's wiretapping of Americans. Too often the media is infatuated with"stars"in entertainment and politics and it becomes corrupted and enamored with itself. Its troubling when a local reporter is moved to another beat after a nice story about slumlords in our town.

Rumor has it that he was moved because he was getting too close to some of the inappropriate business practices of some of our elected officials. That, coupled with his uncovering of favortisim that is being shown to a certain group of alleged business people and appointments to positions within the city for which they have no qualifications. Reassignment of him will not stop other agencies in their investigation of possible wrong doings.

anonymous 1 sounds like a Van Hook... and sour grapes.

As far as the qualifications of certain people, be a man and name names!

No, it is the modus operandi of Millville First to cast aspersions without any facts.

viol8ion you should seek professional help. You have a terrible obsession with Millville First. No, not VanHook. Can't name names, as the investigation prohibits that. Let it suffice to say that some people should be getting their personal affairs in order as they are getting close to "paying the piper". You see Carl, I mean viol8ion, everyone has to answer to someone and the laws apply to everyone.

And just look at the coverage of the primaries! Diamonds or pearls? It's all horserace and fluff. Has anyone seen a real breakdown of the positions of the candidates and/or detailed analyses of their policy ideas? There's none in the MSM, and surprisingly little in the alternate media that I consume. The truth is out there, but we're not allowed to see it.
