Well, we woke up around 5:25 AM and as we were getting ready, there might be a leak in the bathroom because there’s some bubbling going on. That’s what it looks like. So she called maintenance and we were very lucky because the maintenance guy was already in the building for another leak and he looked at the place and he said their moisture meter said it wasn’t moist so that was good but we’re running behind. Alice has already landed. It’s now 6:09 AM. I’m gonna call Uber in about five minutes. Well, we got to Alice at the airport and choose and last she was waiting for us. We managed to get a cart and then got picked up by the shuttle. The woman didn’t even drive up to meet us. We had to meet her and walk for like 500 yards to get to her. Then we got to the rental place and this guy who looked like very gay was kind of a smacked ass and wanted to upgrade us. Then we had to spend extra money and put me as a driver for the whole two weeks that Alice has the car even though I’m only using it for a week. Then we we thankfully found a Starbucks on route 70 which was a blessing and I’ll be able to zip with my iced coffee in hand. We mostly had a smooth trip to the island. We then went to Target and got some food & stuff. We got got to the island and then there was a huge traffic jam on bunch of police trucks and traffic forever. I think we’re on the road for an hour just dealing with the traffic jam then we got ice for the food. Well, the rest of the day I got a list from Marion Alice and I thought of some things myself of things to get to supplement our time here at the beach. It’s now 6:26 PM. I made 2 1/2 trips to Wawa went to a grocery store, went back to hands, and I got everything on the list and I might’ve gotten the wrong kind of pods. I wasn’t sure if it was for washing machine or dishwasher so I just bought it and as long as I save the receipt, I’ll get my money back so I just been doing my thing and Mary and Alice have been crashing out. It’s cooling off now and it was fine. I was in the mood to run around and do shit and do my own thing and space out to Steely Dan and the Byrds. I mean my second round came back and crashed with Mary and that was nice. I really did need that nap. Once I got up, I was hungry and eventually I saw Dave and he was doing mini golf with his daughters and their boyfriend and husband of her daughters. And then we decided to get pizza I needed to go out and get it because GrubHub wasn’t doing any deliveries after 9 o’clock on a Friday night on a vacation on a holiday weekend. Which made no sense but ended up calling Nadia. They did do pick up so proceeded to go towards Nardi‘s. Well, it took 45 minutes to get there because they’re all traffic due to the fireworks stuff even on the Ocean Road. Eventually didn’t get there, and I went to the front entrance where all the young folk were getting carded in the bar was really loud. A little talent for that now, but I used to love that kind of crap. Anyway, I went to the pick up window picked up two very large pizzas. Dave and Debbie donated some salad and couscous, which was delicious. We out down the pizza and save the whole bunch of slices for later on in the week. Allison and I we all decided to talk and it was very nice to us. Sit and talk and I talked to Alice and went to bed. It was a different sort of day, but it ended up being not a bad day at all even though I had a little concerned over Mary’s knee and how I was going to pull off all the shopping and get everything that was needed plus the amount of pizza I bought, but it ended up working out all right, which was very much of a relief for.
It’s July 4 it’s officially the second half of the year and the United States 245th birthday. It’s the first July 4 that I worked ever. Anyhow, I’ll have to look back at last July 4 to see if I did caregiving but I don’t think I did because I didn’t finish the
application process that they had. Anyhow, I woke up to overcast, humid morning. It wasn’t terribly hot, but it was pretty humid. Anyway, the skies did clear up and it got pretty hot.
I visited Mike for a moment then went to my 10:00 AM yoga class it was packed and that room was really stifling. Even the teacher/instructor. Said it was her. He did say, however, that he would open up the windows
after the warm-ups. it was pretty unbelievably hot. Well I made it through class. My foot was having a bad moment, but I made it
through pretty well and then I headed back towards Mike’s around 11:45 AM and waited for this order they never came. I ended up taking multiple naps and having lunch. I kept my ringer
on and the phone was ringing pretty frequently. The family group text was pretty active today. Everything from the American flag 🇺🇸 to the pride flag was discussed. eventually 3 o’clock rolled
around and I signed out. Actually, it was 315 that I signed out and then I walked down to suburban station were. Fortunately there was an actual train schedule. It’s running on a Sunday
schedule so I didn’t have to take multiple buses are Uber to get to Ardmore
for 1 hour walk. And then I’m going to a cookout. The train arrived on
time. It was very empty because it is July 4 is not a regular comedian
day. SEPTA is on the Sunday schedule. It’s not so hot in the shade but when
you get in the sun, it is boiling. And I’m glad I could cag out today. No I
was on the clock. That was good. I also got a grab the bottle of supercoffee cause I’m just feeling kind of in holiday
mode. It’s really hard not to feel holiday mode. Specially,
everything else is kind of quiet and your job is quiet, which is a blessing. I feelfor the people who have to work in fast food or convenience, stores. The have to serve people that are running in & buying ice and last minute stuff for their picnics. They should be getting $15 minimum wage! Anyway, here’s today’s right wing outreach story. Anyhow, I had a really tasty vegetarian sandwich on a
croissant that was quite
enjoyable. Then we took 45 minute walk around Ardmore. Then came back and I was
given some food to take to the picnic and I’m going to now. anyhow, I went to the picnic and time fortunately were people from the group there. There were others that this woman knew from
being young, etc. I was easily the oldest dude there. First, I felt uneasy but after
a little bit achy can’t do a conversation about 8D sound and some kind
of ambient sound that supposed to reduce anxiety. I have to check that out and get the correct name. my phone died when it got dark and I was able to get a ride to 30th St. would save me an Uber ride plus my phone was dead so I left in good time and got home around 9:30 PM.
I talked on the phone and then I am watching videos and went to
sleep. I haven’t really slept smoothly last few nights, so I’ve been taking a lot of naps. Who did interesting day with many weather changes.
