Saturday, November 29: 😎 Dinner w/ Alice’s Kids

Good day everybody today is the second last day of November. Today we have a big meal coming up. We got up around 10 AM and back in her husband came over and then Mimi came over. In the

meantime Alice got up at 7 AM to put the leg of lamb in the oven to cook up. Alice is prepping food right now. Ohio State Michigan are playing on the gridiron. I just had a bowl of serine and Mary had

some bagels since her stomach was a little upset. It is a really sunny, beautiful day outside. My battery is down to 5% so I have to put my

phone down and charge it up. It’s now 10:52 AM. We’re going to relax in the sun with Alice for a month then Mary and I will probably take a walk at the target again. It’s a gloriously sunny day today. Well, all

the kids came over and brought over coffees and a few other things. We lined up cooking chores for everybody and we ended up just hanging out

in near the front door of Alice’s house. It was really nice and mild and sunny. I also got to talk to Hannah about going to Alaska and what month

would be good base. Basically, she said to pick a month and then she would try to work around it. So we’re gonna go either June or July. The first time I seen all their daughter since the wedding I rarely get

to see Hannah because she’s way up in Anchorage. Hannah said it was good to visit Seward because it was a nice walkable town in the trains really nice there. So we’re gonna line up a flight look

at hotels and all that stuff as early as possible so we have it unlocked as they say. Maryann and I have then walk to target for a nice little walk and also to get Mary some over-the-counter drugs and some

Pepsi and water. It’s now 12:49 PM. Well, Maryann, I took a nice long walk a mile each way to target it was a beautiful day for a walk. I got two Pepsi‘s for the road and we walked back and talked and talked about

Alaska & when we might go to Larry’s etc. It’s now 40° in Philadelphia at around 5:00 PM . Take this the Lowe’s are gonna be about 28° when we get back Tuesday evening. That’s gonna be a bit of a shock

getting used to that stuff. It’s 3:46 PM Mary & I took a shower and took a two hour break to just watch old 1980 Phillies highlights and just chill out.

It was very nice to just do nothing now I’m nice and hungry which is good because there’s a ton of food that Alice and her kids are making. Football is being watched for Ohio State beat Michigan pretty

bad and other football games such as Washington versus Oregon and Vanderbilt versus Tennessee. We’re now going to help Alice with the remaining

parts of the dinner. We had a delicious dinner in that meat was really good. It was cooked for eight hours at leg of lamb was very good. We then

played a game called mafia, but before we play that game mafia, we had played a charades kind of game which was pretty fun too. It’s now 7:46 PM. It’s very late in East Coast so nobody is awake there. Mary was the mafia for the second

game and she folded everybody and she was the last living mafia person so she did very well in the game. I’m feeling a little mellow right now,

but I’m having ginger beer and that’s a good thing. we hung out and talked for a while and then everybody had to leave at different times. Maryann and I did a little bit of cleanup and I threw out the trash and recycling as well. If you want

everyone cleared out, we just hung out in the living room and I had a couple of yogurts

and something to drink and we all just zoned out doing stuff on our phones, etc..

Thursday, November 27: Thanksgiving Day

After a good night sleep, Maryann I woke up in California at breakfast. Mary made herself some eggs. We talked about subject, such as Israel, Palestine,

the state of psychiatry and another matters. We then went on errands to get ready for Thanksgiving dinner which is gonna be 3 o’clock today. We went to Whole Foods to pick up the catered food and there

was no point a long line to get there. The small is really very fancy and very California. It’s a really beautiful sunny day. Alice had told us that I’ve been raining for the last week and it’s gonna rain

next week as well. So we got very lucky. She also found a very good parking spot. There  was 2️⃣ lines to pick up the food it was very busy.
Then I couldn’t find a place to put the cart. Anyhow, way, we drove back and started putting the food away and and prepare it. We also stopped at the Amazon store and got kitty litter and I got a Pepsi. That

store is really strange. It doesn’t take Apple Pay and it cost more to buy stuff there. The thing was the Target was closed. Well, we got back to Dallas‘s and rested for a minute put the food away. Then

we brought old photo albums that Alice had. She has the foot problems of the 1973 and 74 camping trips we took and a couple photo album from the shore as well. I will take them once I scan the other nine

or 10 albums. We talk about that and talked about other stuff that I will not bring up here. It’s Nan is now 1:43 PM pushing forward to get ready for the dinner which is scheduled at 4 PM but she wants

everything done around 3:30 PM just in case somebody decides to come early. As we were doing that, we decided to play Alice’s restaurant from Arlo Guthrie, which was pretty fun. It’s funny because

we all decided to eat some sushi before the guest came. And one of the guests came at 2 o’clock, which was like an hour and a half early. And we’re all sitting there looking at her like “hello…“ Anyway she

went, dropped off some kind of cake and went to do errands and we finished up all the sushi and And then started getting the main entrées ready for the dinner. Going to

get changed into some more appropriate outfits. It was very interesting. Looking at the old photo. I’m including a classic where Dave says he does scuba diving now referred to as “muff diving.” Some lady reporter from LBI Brant Beach wrote that and I found it in one of the photo albums owls has.
