Dec 19th Blizzard

Yup, you and I can call this a blizzard. Really cool out. Easily the most snow since we moved to Millville. I have Video from 8:30amthis am and it just keeps falling.. Hung out Drinking Coffee then shoveling and the like. Later at 6pm we checked out the Oar House and then ordered a large mushroom pie. The top 2 photos are the beer garden at the Oar House and our house just tonite. The snow will end at 6am tomorrow. We shall see what the final accumulation is by then. Digg this. SEPTA union calls a strike at 3 AM this morning. I just found out by going online. I had thought the Gov. Rendell came in to save the day. OH that was yesterday!! Gee wiz...now I am gonna be stuck at 8th and Market this morning and well, got to get a ride downtown to get home for our birthday dinner.
How the hell do the transit workers expect folks to support them, when they pull off a sneek job like that. This photo is one of many WORKING folks who like me are standed with little time to plan. Hey, the Phillies are still alive... Here is the Article I woke up to at 5am.

SEPTA workers on strike

SEPTA's largest union went on strike early this morning - crippling a transit system that averages more than 928,000 trips every weekday in the city.

The strike came after hours of negotiation Monday that ended when, according to Willie Brown, president of Transport Workers Union Local 234, both sides agreed that they had gone as far as they could go. The talks broke down shortly before midnight.

The strike began at 3 a.m. Tuesday. At that hour, all bus, subway, and trolley service in the city - as well as the Frontier Division buses in Bucks, Montgomery, and Chester counties - was stilled, not long before the busy morning commute.

Gov. Rendell called the decision to strike before dawn "irresponsible," and said the union action would cause chaos with transit riders who would not know what is happening until after they wake up.

"This is an outrageous action," said Mayor Michael Nutter, who joined Rendell last night to address reporters in the lobby of the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue, where negotiations had been under way since 10 a.m. Monday

Snakeskin and Pennent

Today was quite nice and mild. Really can not ask for nice climate for late October. As usual took the bus at 5:47 am (see video below). I then took the EL train and saw some sites in Philly. At work a co-worker showed off what her pet snake has shedded. It was quite a site and I was glad I could take a picture of it. On the way home I got updates on the Phillies via text as they finished off the LA Dodgers in 5 games. I do not get TBS, so I eventually went to the Oar House for the final part of the game. It looks like the Phillies will play the Yankees. We have not played them in a World Series since 1950!

This Past Week

Well, I just had to mellow out after last week with its death panels for Grandma and paper shortages/system problems at work. I was one frustrated amigo for sure. 3rd Friday went pretty well. Bob White and others (including a former RRCA Board member) paid a visit. We had to take our sign that was on the corner of High and Pine Streets. (So did the Psychic as well). I will have to ask about the ordnance and when the sign can come up etc this week. Going to the dermatologist tomorrow at Penn in Philly. They are going to check on a small growth on my temple. Its barely noticeable but the doctor thought it should be checked out.I paid a visit to see 3 old friends in Baltimore for dinner. Steve cooked up some tasty chicken and homemade sherbet (not sure that is the correct word). This past Sunday we went to a park in Vineland (near the intersection of Lincoln and Chestnut Sts) and celebrated our neighbor's child's birthday. The beans and chicken were very tasty as well. Went to Carolyne's Yoga class with our dog June. Its very good for my tight muscles.
I am getting pretty good business in my dog walking and being my friend's agent. Its good to have extra spending money these days. Man, It was so HUMID, it was gross.
In the outside world, the Phillies are doing well They are up 7 games at this time. The Eagles signed Michael Vick and the uproar began. I mean he has a drink and THAT makes the (Phila Daily)News??
The state budget impasse continues on but at least I am gettting paid. Its still hot outside and I am very tired.
