Friday, July 11: Leaving LBI

Well, Mary & I got up at 6:45 AM at the crack of dawn with a crack of the alarm sounding. We got our final stuff done as we should. We then packed the car to the gills and Alice double checked everything in the condo, including the fact, she fix the towel rack that Mary and I had broke. She checked all the lights. Meanwhile, I Mary & I were carrying all the stuff to the car. That car was stuffed with stuff and Alice has a whole front seat taken up with her road stuff cause she as soon as she drops us off she’s off to Maryland to meet Marguerite with her $500,000 house with an indoor pool. After that, she goes to Western Virginia and then to Nashville to visit her daughter. We picked up our breakfast food at the dockside, which was three egg sandwiches Meanwhile, we stopped by a gas station. ⛽️ & then we went to a Target on the mainland. Mary and I got some Stock coffee and a couple other provisions. I got myself a Pepsi. I got the front of the car arranged for her 6 Hour Rd. trip. We are going to take the Betsy Ross bridge over because the Ben Franklin Bridge is closed for it’s 100th birthday today. It’s now 9:16 AM. We’re about to leave the target parking lot. we successfully left the target parking lot. I had my Pepsi and Mary had her iced coffee. We then set the directions for the Betsy Ross Bridge since the Ben Franklin Bridge is closed for it’s 100th birthday as I have said before. The drive went very smoothly. We went by the red top green top farmers markets that have been there since before we were born and basically did route 70 the whole way up until we went up towards the Betsey Ross bridge. That went pretty smoothly and we got on 95. There was a little bit of traffic but it did keep moving. Alice dropped us off before we had a lot of stuff. Unfortunately the Dorchester has these big cards which makes it so much easier to move stuff plus there’s an elevator. Otherwise it would’ve been tortured carrying stuff bit by bit. We spent a couple hours unpacking stuff. It’s now 12:05 PM. Well soon after we finished unpacking stuff we decided to take a nap and we napped for about three hours. We then got up and watch started to watch the England versus Norway game. It’s now 7:05 PM and it’s one – one at the end of regular time. They’re gonna pay extra 30 minutes on top of the 90+ minutes that they already played. Well, England scored in the extra time. And it is now 2 to 1 England.

Monday, June 29: 2nd Day in Poway

Good day everybody once again Maryann I slept in till close to noon today. Which is OK cause we had no real plans and I had to deal with certain issues. Anyhow, Mary and I decided we would go shopping at target and a place called famous footwear you know where infamous footwear goes to die! So we we looked around for a while and Mary I think Found the ideal pair where the shore. We took a nice walk back and and we decided that we will be eating as soon as Alice took a shower because she’s gonna go round after we eat dinner by the time she gets back it will be too late to eat at any regular restaurant. Yeah both of us don’t want to be eating at In-N-Out Burger again not that it was horrible, but you don’t wanna do that more than once a week at the most. We talked to Alice and it was decided by sheet rather than rent sheets that we’re gonna cost $150 which is absolutely absurd when you can buy them for $11 online. That’s what Alice did. Mike and Mary and David and Debbie are at the shore at LBI. There were some nice pictures of the sunset they took because it’s three hours or later there than it is here. Phillies are about to blow a 50 lead in or losing 8 to 7 to the pirates. Aaron Nola kind of gagged and or Enfield made an error over through first base wasn’t pretty. We’re gonna go out to a Chinese restaurant in Poway now. What are Chinese food was very good. Had a definite 1970s decor as Alice said. We chow down and we treated Alice to dinner. We then came back. Alice went to work and Mary and I just chilled out for a while. I’m going to really miss this nice weather because the day we come back is when the heat wave starts in Philly where the temperature is gonna be over 100° for two days straight
