Thursday, March 3: A productive busy day

Well I decided I wanted to sleep in this morning because I had some weird dreams Routes
at Home
from
trying to maneuver stuff. I woke up go back to sleep wake up go back to sleep etc. I did feel rested
Catching the Bus

however & that was good. I came into work and was able to sign in on time. My supervisor at the sit near
What Can I Say

me because her computer is on the complete malfunction mode. I was on total grind it out work

mode & manically get some stuff done. I didn't realize that I have to write up some sanctions real soon
Good Pizza Place
because the 90 day deadline is approaching for about 10 of my sanctions. I was made
aware of this because reports due yesterday and I had to clear up three people over the phone. I did manage to get appointment for him. We see what happens
Christie: A National Joke
from there. After work I took the train to
Saxby's
19th St. to Saxbys. I met with my sponsor and that was cool. We started to eat at a hoagie place

which is a lot more private than Saxbys after that, I want to Saxbys and gave friend of mine picture of her dog that I had entered in a juried exhibit.

It wasn't accepted but I know my friend wanted a copy of the picture so I just gave her the
WoW!!
framed copy. So we hung out and talked for a while I got caught

up. I hadn't seen her in almost a month and I needed to catch her up with some my goings-on. After

she caught it and we're back home I caught the 38 bus back towards my place and hung out with Sharon for a moment. I didn't watch the the carnival show that is the Republican primary debate. Donald Trump talked about his penis size in the beginning of a debate. All the other three Candace said they would support truck if you were the nominee. That effectively tokes off their argument against him.
I did confirm my trip to Buffalo. The previous time I bought it on February 17 was canceled because I didn't have enough credit on my small credit card. I was fortunate to get the same price F I did for the previous time I tried to buy it and I got the same flight numbers which is really cool. I joined America American airlines frequent flyer program since apparently American Airlines always has cheapest rates when I compare next guy rented a car to go down to Wilmington. I went through the Internet and got a $30 rate on the rental. I will have to leave work tomorrow at 2:30 PM and cats they airport line to pick up the car at Alamo. It was good to get stuff done like that and over with. What provoked it is that they wanted everybody's future vacations written up so they would know who to allow to take all.
Overall it wasn't a bad day at all.

Tuesday, March 1st: Super Tuesday

Well I got up in time and made it to the sunrise. I felt much better this morning than I did last night. To
Rybread
my favorite people had their anniversary today. And I'm now planning a trip to Canada in mid-May.
Leaving the Bus Stop
I have to look up the Porter Airlines from new work to Sudbery Ontario. I also need to contact a few
20th Street
people and get ready for March. March is when things change and spring shows up. There's an island in
Climbing that Hill
Canada that people can move to if we get a President Trump.

The joke will be on us if we allow this man to be elected
Supposed to be a Target
president of United States. Well I got to talking at lock alarm which I haven't gone to in a while. Now I'm
running late to work because of that and because the westbound else needs to be held up for some particular

I skipped the meeting at Fairmount since I did go to sunrise this morning. I did pay for my flight to Nashville Tennessee.  My advertised for a roommate for the September 1-4 weekend. I put in the time for work and I put in time for Buffalo as well All the Republicans are something awful it just depends on what kind of awful. Rubio is the most palatable but he still mimicking the hard right stance on abortion etc. I'm visiting my brother at the Sterling pig in Media and watching super Tuesday results. I'm on the 69th St. trolley heading down to Media. It's now 7:30 PM.It's an AA convention. They have the thing and it has a  weird name called "ICYPAA"

Christie and Trump Together
September 4. I reserved a room with 2 queen size beds & I hope to find a roommate to help defray
the cost of this room.
🤓🤓 I did get a discounted rate of $139 per night for 4 nights. If I can't find a roommate I'm bailing out a day early.

November 4th Eastern Standard Time

Coffee Please
This morning I first got up and when I glanced at my phone, it was an hour earlier! So I went back to sleep. I woke an hour later and thought I would try to make a 10 am meeting at 3rd and South Street.
I  got the 21 Bus at 9:35 this morning. As you can see I started off without coffee. I ate, showered and went to the bus stop. Google maps was correct in that I did wait about 6 minutes at the stop.
On the way to South Street on the Route 57 bus a huge Tom Smith for Senate bus clogged the road then tried to park on the side of 3rd street What is your plan for the week? Maybe I will see you downtown or the web or a text message. Who really knows, I don't control others thoughts and actions, ya know!
Had a fun B-day party last night. Photos are here
Have a great morning & I hope you did NOT forget to turn your clocks back this morning or you may have been confused. Remember, "Spring Forward and Fall Back!
Gov. Christie Today
After the meeting I met up with my friend and we did some window shopping for shirts and pants at various stores downtown. I was really looking for a hat since it's so cold. I believe the low tonite is going to be 32 degrees for the first time this Fall. Speaking of weather, the aftermath of hurricane Sandy are wire apparent. New York may ask for a 2nd day of voting. The CNN reporter said it would be 20 days after Election Day. How weird is that? I mean the election could be decided by then and if it NOT, well," Houston we have a problem."
Back Room
The Blue Light Special
Back to my day, I did buy a hat at Marshall's, at least I think it was Marshall's. My friend and I went to Starbucks and I got 2 coffee's with my found Starbucks card. We agreed to meet at Saxbys at 7:30 before the 8pm meeting next door. I then decided to hit the Apple store to charge my phone. Well, with the iPhone 5, the store has very few plugs available, that fit my my iPhone 3GS. I next went to the AT&T store and charged the phone there. I had to hang around the store for quite a bit. I think I was there for about an hour. I then hung out in CC and met my friend at the 7 PM AA meeting. and of course it was packed but the speaker was very good. He lived with a mentally ill Mother and an alcoholic Father and had tons of roaches in the house and was pretty good with the ladies. Here is the Album that I have been listening to while on the computer for the weekend. I am just hooked on Steely Dan again. They are a timeless band and I never I was not way into this album like Aja or Countdown to Ecstasy. Well, tomorrow November 5th is my Birthday and I will be 51 years old. I think of Area 51 nowadays!

Holloween 2012

Halloween 2012 it was a bit of a long day. It was my first day back from a unexpected four-day weekend. After work, I took a nap. Next I went to a good group session and then hung out with Alicia and Pat. I was again obsessing about how I ain't doing AA the way I should. Must stop being so hard on myself. Today  is November 1 all souls day and  I did not go to the Sunrise  meeting, I feel I went from the " Pink Cloud" to the dark shadows seemingly about once every week or so. I think this song by the Beatles "Yesterday" (not a fave for sure) sums it up pretty well:
Off the "Pink Cloud"

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly, I'm not half to man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Walking  Out
I suppose that is the way its has to be for me. Glad I have a good group and friends to keep me sane and not do anything goofy or stupid. Cause in my head there is stupid and ghetto all over.
The weather has cooled off significantly after the hurricane. The Indian Summer of October was blown away. I am hopefully will be able to go to LBI with a old supervisor friend of mine. I saw on CNN the devastation that Sandy reeked  on Seaside Heights and the entire shore. I have a new appreciation for NJ Governor Chris Christie. I may not always agree with him  and he can be a bully but in a crisis he does stand up and takes care of business.
Jon Stewart showed how government can work when there is no political Bullsh..

Leaving
I am just getting up from a nap to finish this report and preclude from needing a nap later after I finish with the Welfare Wakka. This way, I do not need a nap before my group session and do not nod off during the session like I have in the past. I do notice that my contact with others waxes and wanes. Do you , my readers have that happen to you. I thought at age 50 (only till Sunday :) ) this did not happen, then again I am not your typical 50 year old man. You see I do not have a plan, NO wait, I certainly do and that is STAY SOBER!! I like to think that all the other B.S will straighten out once the booze is washed out from my body. I am told it takes about 18 months for all of it to excrete from the body and most of all the brain!!
Well boys and girls, time to go. Please feel free to comment. I might have to say something political and/or inflammatory like I have done before.
Toodles my fiends.

Privatization: A Bill of Goods!

US_Attorney_Chris_Christie.jpg‎ cropped as squ...Image via Wikipedia
Today I am going to comment on the news of the day. I can find my camera adapter and its very early in the morning.
I read that NJ is going to end motor vehicle safety inspectionsand just do emissions testing. Are we going to see savings in taxes? Where is the 17 Million our money going to go to?? A good point  to be made is  the cost of auto maintenance. Folks who barley can afford their cars are going to skimp on repairs and guess what drive on OUR streets. Oh yes, watch the insurance companies hike rates. Yup, penny-wise and pound foolish I say.
The Christie Administration wants to privatize more state servicesto save 210 million.
A New Jersey task force created by Gov. Chris Christie said Friday the state could save at least $210 million a year by privatizing motor vehicle inspections, turnpike toll booths, preschools, state parks and some services at state prisons.

The five-member task force, commissioned in March to examine the potential savings of privatization, submitted a 57-page report to the governor. The group is made up of lobbyists and business interests.
Now, we seem to hear the wonderful savings and efficiencies that come with privatization. Note the quote above mentions that the group charged with writing the report is made up of LOBBYISTS and BUSINESS INTERESTS! They stand to gain big time on any privatization scheme that passes. We all remember what happened when Governor Christie Whitman did this in 1998 with motor vehicle
inspections and the whole plan had to be scrapped due to cost overruns that cost the TAXPAYER millions. This report by the State of New Jersey Commission of Investigation shows what does happen when privatization goes wrong. The proposed "savings" will line the pockets of the business lobbyists and the any savings will cease to exist due to lax oversight. This is a history of poor results with privatization. Another blogger explains it quite nicely:

But doing it “right” does not mean firing state workers and employing a private company to do the same job with lower-paid (and most likely less qualified) employees while the politically-connected contractor skims off a handsome profit at the taxpayers’ expense. Since the contractor is accountable to shareholders and not voters, steps must be taken to ensure that the taxpayers’ interests are being addressed appropriately. This requires oversight and insight by qualified and empowered state employees. That cost must be included in the equation when considering privatization.
The New Jersey Legislature MUST take a steely-eyed look at ANY proposal to follow though on these recommendations. They are the folks with the obligation to watch our tax dollars and not sell out to the highest bidder.
The recent decision on emission is short-sighted and so is the Governor's proposals.
