Today was the day we were finally gonna do our road trip out to
Joshua tree national Park. We first had to get ready by having some breakfast getting packed and called Uber. On the way
to Uber the cat got out but we are OK. Alice was very chill about it. Alice is going kayaking while we’re on our trip so we went on our trip and it’s
now 12:52 PM. We’re in a little town called.
Borrego Springs, California. The car started smelling a little funny
we checked on it and it seems to be OK. We are taking our sweet time and I’m
glad we are staying at a hotel because it would be tough turning around. We
can keep the car we have to get the car back by the rental place by 11:30 tomorrow morning. Otherwise
it’s a 3️⃣ day rental instead of a 1️⃣ day rental. This is because they’re
close on Sunday and I’ll have to return it Monday. well on our way to Joshua tree
decide to stop at the salt and sea area. We didn’t go to the area. I went
to last time but we went to Salton city. It’s an actual city there. While
we’re there, we met a really nice lady who gave us the lowdown on
when people show up and what they do while they’re there such as hang gliding with these motorized fans on their backs. He said that it’s quiet now, but there’s gonna be a bunch of people coming here between in the next 2️⃣.
weeks This is the height of the vacation time for people in the trailers end motorhomes. We learned that there’s there’s a ton of lithium under lithium under the salt and sea. One company
is trying to make Buco bucks out of extracting uranium lithium for car batteries for EV cars. That was very interesting. She was really nice and she has a cool looking
trailer and she goes all over the place and has a place in LA as well. Mary commented that it smelled a little like sulfur, but it was not really as hideous odor from
the time. My sister and I went there. I think we went on the other side. It was also summertime which made the temperature a lot hotter. It was very mild and comfortable today
at the Salton Sea area. so we left these Sultan city area 3:30 PM and got to Joshua tree approximately 4:15 PM before sunset. I went to the visitor center and asked questions and bought
a bunch of swag for souvenirs. They were very nice there and gave us a lowdown of where skull rock is. That’s
the one place I was at years ago when I last went here. This time
we got there and it was packed with huge amount of kids. It looked like
there are a lot of overseas tourist today. We got some nice sunset pictures
and we got to see skull rock which was really good. We then left and got back
to the hotel and checked in the room is nice and small and very
clean. It’s very basic but good enough for us. We had to crank up the heat and it warmed up
pretty quickly. Then we decided we would go to Sam’s Indian
food and pizza.🍕. Well, we got there around 7 PM and we didn’t get our dinner till about
8:15 PM and we were so starving. We were warned on the yelp reviews
that the food’s good but the service is slow and they were right. We got there. The
restaurant was packed by the time we left with the last one of the 2️⃣ tables
to leave. The food was really delicious. I just gobbled that stuff up and so did
Mary. Also, the restaurant was not very
warm like they didn’t have any heat and it’s 45° out tonight we then went back to
the motel, which was nice and warm
and relaxed. Oh, we got back to the hotel heated all it up. Well, we decided that we
wouldn’t do anything and we would just
chill out and get ready to sleep. We talked about possibly going to Bombay Beach or Palm Springs. We tried to figure out how earlier in the morning
we’d have to wake up for all those things. It appears it’s gonna be pretty
damn
early we thought about it. We decided to stick with Palm Springs so
we’ll see if we can go to Palm Springs then go straight back to the rental car
place by 11:30 AM tomorrow morning. It’s really good to go back to Joshua tree. I’m gonna check out some other national parks one day that’s for sure.
