Well, its been an eventful weekend.I went to Larry's Bar on the 29th to celebrate my sister-in-Law's birthday. It was a fun time playing pool and hanging out. Yesterday May 30th was eventful. I got a good dose of sun scooping stones for our backyard and I am not used to it. I got a little too much on my face. Yesterday, I went to Carl's Margarita Bash. It was perfect day out. I saw some friends and chilled out. I went to Densie and Jon's to their home and had some dinner, did some bird watching and enjoyed the forest near their home. I had trouble sleeping due to the sun I got yesterday. I plan on censor around 10am this morning. Its now 8:10am and Steve is now cooking patatio salid from scratch for a family get-together with his girfriend's family. Steve tells me we had it last year.

Family Get-Together
Last night met up with Carolyne's sisters, nieces and others in Fortesque NJ. It was a nice time to catch up and take it easy. More photos are here.
We plan to meet again this weekend at Larry's bar in Millville. That should be fun. Will see how bad my pool is this year. Have a great Memorial Day holiday

Friday
Last night went to Artists Nite at Carl's and had a good time. We talked about the nuts in Northfield and certain County politicians moving. The rain fell but it was all pretty cool.
I am off to work where its been real buzy this week. The carfare has not been done and well lets hope its not too bad. Back in 2007 our Deputy Secretrey of Public Welfare call us caseworkers to the carpet about customer service. Its pretty scathing!
Well got to catch the bus. Looking forward to the holiday just like last year.

News Before the Holiday
I decided to browse the local media. I better do this BEFORE I have to pay for an online subscription as will happen as the bean-counters take over newspapers. There were 2 moves afoot to save Millville Police Officer's jobs. The first one reported was in the AC Press. The Millvile Housing Authority is working on a plan to hire a police officer:
The hot weather is upon us and well it's less then one week till June 2010. I am keeping cool this am with the ceiling fan in our kitchen. Hope this video brings you all cool thoughts on this late May day.
With nine officers facing potential layoffs next month, Dice said he began considering an arrangement in which the Police Department would provide a presence in the housing authority's senior high rises. In exchange, the authority would pay a fee to be used expressly for officer salaries. Now THIS Mr. Paul Dice is REALLY using his noodle! Kudos to your sir. I hope you can make this plan a reality since there tends to be security issues in public housing highrises. The next story in the Daily Journal in today's editon reports that Millville Police Chief Ed Grennon will retire to save a police officer's job.
Grennon said Wednesday his decision is tied to the city's budget problems. The city recently gave layoff notices effective July 1 -- which is the start of the 2010-11 fiscal year -- to nine police officers and one dispatcher. A 10th officer would have been laid off without his retirement decision, he said. "And the community needs officers on the street," Grennon said. "That's the way I'm looking at it."This action is typical of the positive and selfless attitude of Mr. Ed Grennnon. In my converstations with him he has always a professional who wanted the best for Millvlle and its police department. Millville has been fortunite to have a police officer like Ed Grennon! In good news, Millville hopes to get a new mosaic program up and runnning. The ones developed by Liz Nicklus and students are reported to be wearing out. Its been 3 years since I helped put them up with Big Don, Carl and others. Also it looks like Jim Penlend will suceed in raising enough $$ for the hanging baskets to be put on High Street. Way to go JIM!!!

Its Getting Hotter Everyday.
Hi Steve, Pat, Carl, Carolyne, etc. Man its pretty hot right now. I am updating my blog. I need another tooth extracted. This will be my 3rd one this month. The photo above is an X-Ray taken today of the tooth in question. Its the one to the very left. Man, I am getting old.. I am glad that its the very back. Dentist gave me anitbiiotics to reduce the infection and swelling. Next Friday, I get the tooth removed. Work is real buzy this week and made worse by the fact one person is on vacation and they are training us one at a time. I guess the holiday is bringing them in these days. I am looking forward to the Margarita bash this coming Sunday at Carl''s. Who knows it might be the last one. You never know what can happen in a year's time!! I am being such a blabbermouth. I am aiming to write a long entry (well, by my standards...) In Pennsylvania, a candidate for Governor Tom Corbett, as attorney general, issued a grand-jury subpoena to Twitter to unmask a couple of anonymous bloggers. Man, what a bully!! Does he not believe in the First Amendment and president that folks have the right to be critical of PUBLIC FIGURES?? I completely agree with Will Bunch of the Philly Inquirer on this issue!! I am a state employee. I can ONLY imagine how he will treat state employees at the bargaining table next year 2011 IF he gets elected. I heard on WHYY radio (NPR)that the new owners of the Philly Inquirer will start to charge $$ for the online version of the paper. The man interviewed was pretty cocky and said this charging of online content is the wave of the future. Ummm...like ATM. As usual hook em and then charge them. Hope I see you tomorrow nite at Artists nite and/or the Memorial Day Bash at Carls
This was some squatter dude near the Schykill Express at 30th Street who was asking for money. You do see him, girlfriend and dog at times when the weather is decent. Now time to deal with roches(YUCK!!)

May 25th...A Full Moon??
Good morning. Today I am going to the dentist around 5pm to check out a problem with the upper-right side of my mouth. I bet its ANOTHER root canal gone bad. Well, we will see.
I revised my April 26th posting as directed. Its good to know that SOMEBODY is reading my blog. I wish more folks had time on their hands to browse and look for things to enjoy and play with :)
Yesterday after work, I was waiting for someone for 20 min and saw these folks going in and out of a Chinese takeout at around 8-8:15pm on Tuesday May 25th 2010. A little earlier they had sped off in the white car, then they came back. Do you recognize them. The woman looked like a druggie to me. You be the judge of that. I mean why would you go back and forth. I even hear the woman ask alout "DO YOU THINK I AM A CRACKHEAD?? Well, I think she answered THAT question!!!
Speaking of Trash, I took out a motherlode of garbage to the corner of my house. This was the result of my work last weekend cleaning up the backyard. Man, so much junk gets piled up before you know it. Below is a photo of the large trash pile taken at 5am when I was getting milk for my coffee.
Well, time to drive and go shopping for a man with a big head then do lots of carfare cause I do not want folks stuck in their house.

This Past Weekend
For this weekend, it was time for a little Spring cleaning. I first got up early to give keys so Pat could walk dog and got back by 9:35am so Carolyne could drive to her yoga class. That is me with the dog When I got back, the first thing was to tidy up the backyard. It had started to look a bit dumpy with all kinds of items. I took off the dirt near the studio and put it bags and removed ladders, tables and relocated other items. I then scraped off the top layer of the wood chips and put new wood chips down to freshen up the look. I removed plenty of dirt and threw out stuff I did not need. Man, the trash really piled up, that's for sure. Enjoy the video
I went to Chris Ney's birthday part later that day (Saturday) It was held at the Oar House on the side where the Next Oar used to be. The room was filled to capacity and folks really seemed to have a good time. On Sunday I had to remove a rug which had too many cat piss smells to be a viable rug. I had to remove all the books from EACH bookshelf move the rug, then put the bookshelves back and reload all the books. Not a mentally hard task but very time consuming that's for sure but now no cat piss smell and another piece of garbage to put out on the street. Well its another work week. This week's feature is giving out carfare for next month. Lots of paper, lots of fun! This nice cool weather may be ending Thursday when the temp is going up to 87! I may have to install the air conditioners

I have an early start to today. Its now 6:30am and I am going to Philly and back by 9:30 to do some stuff around the house for a guest who will determine our home's worth.

Police Protest at Millville City Commission
This is what I witnessed at City Hall on Tuesday night. There I saw a mass of large men in crew cuts hanging around at the foot of the steps leading to the City Commission meeting. Earlier I saw some Vineland firemen at the Oar House at the bar from 4:30 till about 6pm.( see video below) I had a feeling they were going to the meeting to support the Millville Cops. I was CORRECT! They were very intimidating for sure. Some even mocked my PINK camera (oh well.) See the video below its proof of the intimidation of the folks there. Now I do understand that NOBODY wants to lose their jobs and lord knows we need the police in Center City Millville where I live, I just did not find the mob mentality that was present. I had to leave early but I got the idea. The City Commission does NOT want to raise taxes and they are doing anyting they can within the bounds of state law to do it. I am sure they do not relish laying off police officers but public safety is 62% of the city budget. Well, the Motersports Park got the OK from a private firm. This is not a surprise since the noise ordenance does allow 80db for 20 minutes. Its good news that the city is having negotations with the NJMP. I trust that Dale Finch will handle it with poise. I just thought of something, the sound of the Oar House on band nite (last nite was a good example) has got to be louder then the racetrack and it lasts longer then 20 minutes. I do know of course I KNEW that a bar was close by when I moved from Holly Village to Center City Millville.

Levoy Theatre Groundbreaking
Yesterday, May 18th, the formal groundbreaking was held at the theatre grounds. It was very exciting to be there. Its been a long hard road for many people. The current effort was started in 1995 by Joe Peirce Jr who died in 2000. The current board of dirctors led by Lauren VanEmbden have worked for over 2 years gathering support and financing for this 8 million dollar project. The renovations should be done in a year (May 2011.
After the ceremoney, we all got to see the inside of the theatre in its present state. Its quite the structure with 60 foot ceilings. It is going to need a load of work and this will test the Construction crew of Ogren Construction which is in charge of the renovations. Its a great day for Millville and it will be something to look forward to seeing the Levoy for the ribbon-cutting! I will have vidoes and a photo gallery real soon.

Tuesday...Afternoon..In Millville
Well, I took off work from the land of baby-making and did some walking in the rain for good sense. I am now taking a lunch break and going to the groundbreaking ceremoney for the Levoy Theatre. This was the real reason I took off today from the Wakka. It was raining like made today but the weekend was pretty cook. We went to JB & ME on High Street and saw some of Jim's work and I did some senses walking and met my organizer at the local McDonalds. The photo is of me standing next to a LARGE McDonalds Truck.
Got to fly now to the Levoy groundbreaking now. The rain has stopped!! Nice omen!!
Hole in the Ground! Look Out!!

May 12
The day started with the extractions. The dentist was pretty efficient. Heck, filling out the paperwork took just as long as the removal of the 2 teeth. I saved $325 by going with Novocaine instead of the the sodium penithal(laughing gas). They x-rayed my mouth with this contraption that circled my skull to get a full copy of my teeth. It was much more comfortable then having 5 x-rays done. I came home and took the pain killers and crashed for 4 hrs. That was good.
I then did my sensible work and that went well. I spoke to a manager and got 6 done. While doing my sensible stuff, I ran into Dennis Taws and a person who moved in an apt where some Millville malcontents used to live. She had met Dennis and we talked a bit. I went to the McDonald's to end my being sensible. After that I went to the Cosmopolitan in Vineland. Its near the burned out Loyale Lanes. Its a pretty nice-looking place, not what one would expect in Cumberland County NJ. I went to Rita's birthday party. She had sent a text on Monday and since I was nearby, I thought I would stop by. I hung out,met new friends, had a cold one and went on shopping at the Shop Rite. Had to find stuff like rice milk and organic fruit and veggies. While finishing my errands, I ran into this dude with a funky look. His earlobes were distorted. I was told what it was but of course I just plum forgot. Click on the photo to see what I mean. If you know what it is please put in the comments section or send me an email. Guess I am getting older and have no teenage babies.
Next Tuesday, I may take the day off to see the ground-breaking for the Levoy Theatre. Its at 2pm and taking the bus makes going to work a bit of a joke. The Flyers JUST tied up their series with the Boston Bruins 3-3. They were down 0-3 just last week. Tomorrow they could be the 3rd team in NHL history to win a series after being down 0-3. That would be pretty exciting. I will admit that I have not watched any of the games but have read the Inquirer and the Metro (Free paper on SEPTA) Well, its time to go to work. After work walk a dog, see a friend and go to whole foods for carpet cleaner and some other stuff. Its still cold out too. I am sure in 2 weeks I will be putting in the AC's. Memoral Day is coming up soon.
